Frequently Asked Questions
Do you need a doctor’s referral to book an appointment?
No, a physician’s referral is not required to receive physiotherapy care. However, some private insurance plans do require a physician’s referral. If you will be claiming your physiotherapy care through your private insurance, please make sure to clarify whether they require a doctor’s referral prior to booking your first appointment.
Are home visit physiotherapy sessions covered by insurance?
Home visit physiotherapy sessions are commonly covered partially or fully by extended health care plans. And to make things easy, we provide direct billing to many third party insurers! We encourage you to check your policy to confirm your physiotherapy coverage prior to your first appointment, as not all policies provide 100% coverage. We thank you in advance for paying any outstanding balances or covering the costs in the case the claim is not accepted.
Do you provide care in retirement residences?
Yes! We provide in-home physiotherapy care to individuals living in retirement residences and private long-term care facilities.
What should I expect for my first appointment?
During your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will discuss your concerns and relevant health history then assess your home environment, current strength and mobility. Your physiotherapist will work with you to establish the goals you want to work towards and use this information to create your Personalized Movement Program. You will be introduced to exercises and strategies that you can get started with right away and your physiotherapist will be able to answer any questions that you or your family may have. After developing your treatment plan, your physiotherapist will create a plan to follow-up with you. Your physiotherapist will bring required equipment to each appointment.
